Best Buddies Canada - Workshop

Best Buddies Canada is a national charitable organization that helps foster friendships between individuals with intellectual disabilities and students in elementary, high school, University and Colleges. Founded in the United States by Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Best Buddies established its first chapter in Canada in 1993.

Through the program, people with an intellectual disability are given an opportunity to enjoy the same experiences many people take for granted – such as going for coffee, watching a movie, or simply enjoying the company of a friend.

Today, there are over 300 Best Buddies chapters throughout Canada. Schools that run Best Buddies are eligible for funding, Best Buddies staff support, and receive resources such as an easy-to-follow user-guide, posters, and other recruitment tools. There is NO COST to run Best Buddies. We also offer scholarships, awards, conferences, and special activities that will engage your entire school.

The DSA-NCR is happy to invite its members to a Best Buddies workshop.
